Maps of areas visited near Cayambe During the last week of November 2018, I traveled to Ecuador with Dino and Cecy from Eleos Healing Global Mission , to run brief outreach events in rural communities near Cayambe . A few years ago we began visiting the area near Christmastime to distribute bags of Christmas candy to children and elderly people living in Santa Monica, Chaupiloma and Muyurco. In the past we also had help from a large number of nursing students, but this year only friends of the ministry from around Ecuador were able to participate. Volunteers packing candy bags Volunteers from Quito, including some of Cecy's family member, received donations of clothing and toys for use to distribute. They also purchased bulk candies and cookies, and packed over 300 bags before we even arrived in Ecuador! Map of ministry sites At the end of May, I traveled to Ecuador for 10 days with friends and volunteers on a medical mission organized by Eleos Healing Global Mission . The mission was organized with medical professionals Dino and Cecy Tintin, and helped by students from Southeastern University of Florida, and other volunteers from the US , Ecuador and El Salvador . Volunteers included doctors and medical students, nursing, pre-med and social work students, pastors and lay people. We provided medical outreaches with free consultations, free prescriptions, and donations of clothing and the gospel for three days in Chaupiloma , two days in Santa Monica and one day each in Muyurco and Cayambe . We also spent an afternoon with children at an orphanage in northern Quito .
